My story

[p]I really like running, but it's HARD WORK both in training and on the day, so running a marathon for Utange Orphans Charity is no small deal! I won't be anywhere near the first lady finisher; I'm quite slow and quite old so I realisitically expect to finish in a shade under 5 hours which I have done before; that's in addition to the 70+ hours I will have spent running at least 400 miles during training. I hope to raise a lot of money to support the children at the orphanage in Utange, Kenya.[/p][p]Utange Orphans Charity is the work of a friend at my church, who established a home for 24 AIDS orphans. She has provided them with a loving family home and education to university level where appropriate. In addition, every week she gives a meal and food supplies to 500 children in the village who could otherwise not be sure of a meal every day. Her latest endeavour is to build a secondary school in Utange. You can read all about the project at https://utangeorphans.org .[/p][p]Thank you for your interest and support. It will make a significant difference in the lives of the young people of Utange.[/p]

Good luck in the Marathon Jenny. I ran in the Edinburgh Marathon for Utange Orphans Charity last year so understand just how hard the training is (the race itself comes as a bit of a relief in comparison!). I hope it goes well and you hit your target

Good luck with this. I am a supporter of the Utange project anyway but thought I would give a small donation to you too as training for and running the marathon for this great cause deserves a bit of encouragement.
