My story

[p]As most of you already know (mainly because its all I talk about) - I'll be running the London marathon this year. Challenge is an understatement, i'm certainly not a natural runner, but i'm certainly going to give it my best shot.[/p][p][br][/p][p]The reason why I've chosen this charity is because sadly my uncle Keith passed away last year. This lovely small charity aims to provide young people with learning difficulties or disabilities with life skills and vocational training that will enable them to participate more fully in living and working in the community.[/p][p][br][/p][p]My uncle Keith had learning difficulties, coupled with grand mal epileptic seizures, and needed special care and understanding, Keith saw himself as a failure, always comparing himself with what he saw as successful people, he always had a dream of one day being independent, and being cured of his difficulties, however, the reality was that he needed to be in a care situation, he had special needs, and special carers to look after him. [/p][p][br][/p][p]I think at times we all feel that we haven't come up to our expectations of ourselves, however we all have our strengths and weaknesses, so to sum up in a few words in a way Keith challenged us, we had to learn to be patient and understanding with him, with his difficulties, his handicaps, and for us to show good examples to him, by being good teachers for him. He was an incredible son, brother and uncle, and therefore i hope to do him proud. [/p][p][br][/p][p]--[/p][p][br][/p][p]Somewhere over the rainbow[/p][p]Bluebirds fly[/p][p]And the dreams that you dream of[/p][p]Dreams really do come true[/p]
