My story

[p]Run a Marathon Garthwaite? Are you mad? Have you seen your flat feet? Have you ever ran further than a mile?[/p][p]Just some of the supportive comments over the last 3 months.....[/p][p]I’m a Marathon first timer and I'm taking on the Virgin London Marathon 2020! I’m more than a little bit terrified but I know that your support will help me through it so thank you for visiting my page! [/p][p]Many of you will know that Lorna ran for the Disability Resource Centre (DRC) in Luton last year and with the passing of my Dad (who was a trustee there), raised enough for a brand new fitness suite that has changed lives. I've now been given the opportunity to run for the DRC in Birmingham (a city close to my heart), a charity that have made a huge difference to the lives of over 90,000 disabled people for almost 30 years. They deliver a wide range of services that make sure disabled people get the support they need to live independently and stay fit and healthy, regardless of their condition or diagnosis.[/p][p]www.disability.co.uk if you'd like to learn more...they literally change lives.[/p][p]I’d like to raise as much as I can for the DRC Birmingham. Unlike big charities they only have one space in the London Marathon and that's me! [/p][p]You have the opportunity to donate to a fabulous charity and lock me into 26.2 miles of pain. What's not to like....please click Donate.[/p][p]Thank you.[/p][p][br][/p]

Go Garthwaite! A bit more time to train now so we expect sub 2 hours in October (or at least beat Lorna's time - now there's a challenge!)
