My story

[p]Thank you for visiting my fund raising page. I've set this page up as a thank you to the St John's Hospice in Doncaster for caring for my Dad. George Harlington passed away at the Hospice in September 2011 and the staff did everything they could to give my Dad a comfortable, peaceful and dignified end to his life.[/p][p]To raise funds for the Hospice I've signed up for a challenge to walk the height of Mount Everest throughout 2018. To do this i will be walking up various hills and mountains in England and Wales and recording my routes with a mapping app called Viewranger. The app records walking times, distance travelled and ascent (height) gained. The ascent is the important part, this is what I'll be adding together from the walks until I've reached 8848 metres which is the height of Mount Everest.[/p][p]To put this challenge into perspective, the height of Mount Everest is approximately 9 times higher than England's highest mountain, Scafell Pike.[/p][p]I hope this has helped to explain the challenge i'm doing, i won't actually be visiting Mount Everest ![/p][p]Please give generously as the St John's Hospice does a fantastic job and relies on fund raising in order to continue doing that job.[/p][p]Many thanks,[/p][p]John Harlington.[/p]
