My story

[p]Hi Everyone, [/p][p]Thank you for visiting my page. Last September I successfully completed my first Tonbridge Half Marathon for Latin Link in 2hrs, 35mins and 33 secs! It was my comeback run, having not run a half marathon for two years due to recovering from a major prostate operation in January 2011.[/p][p]This year I am hoping to finish the race inside 2hrs 30 mins, but would very much like to be closer to 2hrs 15mins! The course is undulating, so I have been in training up and down the steep hills of Cowden, near Edenbridge, as well as running from our house to Leigh, Penshurst and Chiddingstone - and back! I started running half marathons five years ago, and really enjoy it. The photo on the left was taken in the rain after last year's race following my 80 metre sprint to the finish, where I received my finishing medal.[/p][p]As you may know, I work full-time representing Latin Link in the South of England. Latin Link members, mostly in Latin America, work with local Christians to meet diverse needs, from caring for street children to training church leaders; from supporting prisoners to generating employment opportunities. Meeting both practical and spiritual needs.[/p][p]Seeing Mo Farah racing to gold in the 10,000 metres at the recent world athletics championships in Moscow encourages me. Latin Link too is encouraged that next time around, the Olympics will be in Brazil. So this is my chance to do something sporty for Latin America! Through Virgin Money Giving, you can help the charity by sponsoring me knowing the money will go straight to Latin Link. If you pay tax in the UK, please choose gift aid - so that Latin Link gets extra courtesy of Her Majesty's Inland Revenue.[/p][p]With many thanks for your support of my half marathon run for Latin Link on 22nd September![/p][p]Jonathan[/p]

Many congrats! I've added some interest, due to a delay while computer system being fixed up. Delighted your own bounce back seems to have worked out so well.
