My story

[p]Thank you for visiting my page. On Sunday 23 April 2017, I will be running the London Marathon as part of Team Tommy for Fight for Sight’s Tommy Salisbury Fund.  In 2005 Tommy Salisbury (now aged 16) was diagnosed with a rare eye condition called Choroideremia, his parents Emma and Paul have been tirelessly raising money for research into this genetic condition since then.     There is still work to be done and funds are needed in helping the surgeons getting this treatment passed by the Department of Health and it being ready of Tommy and other sufferers. [/p][p]It is now my turn to help them in achieving their ultimate goal of finding a cure or treatment and saving Tommy’s sight.  Choroideremia is a genetic eye disorder that causes progressive sight loss, it starts with night blindness during your teens which progresses to tunnel vision and blindness 20 to 30 years after the onset.  Thanks to the Tommy Salisbury Fund research into new treatments for Choroideremia has been greatly enhanced.  As a result of their funding the world’s first clinical trial took place in October 2011, this has been a massive success.  So far around 20 men have had this treatment and the progression of the condition has stopped in the treated eye.  [/p][p]Tommy is like family to me and I want to do everything in my power to help him please sponsor me. With everyone's generosity, I would be ecstatic to reach my target of £2,000 to help further the research. This is a charity where all donations go directly into the research rather than marketing etc.[/p][p]No donation is too small as every penny helps.[/p][p]I would be extremely grateful if you could help Tommy’s Fight for Sight![/p][p]Many Thanks, [/p][p]Jordan[/p]
