My story

[p]There are several very large global charities and government organisations that are doing amazing work to help cure blindness in some of the poorest places in the world. [/p][p]The Peek Foundation develops technology to help eye health providers in low- and middle-income countries improve their services. Their systems provide data and insights which enable those health providers to optimise their programmes and deploy their limited resources more effectively. It means reaching more people, improving diagnosis and treatment rates and measuring success.[/p][p]It's a small charity that creates huge and far-reaching impact. Over the last few months I have got to know the small team well and am confident that all the money they raise will have a multiplying effect in terms of impact on one of the world's biggest health issues.[/p][p]To support Peek, some friends and I will be attempting to break the world record for "Fastest Half Marathon in a Blindfold". Paul will be giving me verbal cues (no tethering allowed) and Lecky and Vassos will be filming and keeping other runners safe.[/p][p]It has been an enlightening experience to say the least and has helped us to appreciate the dramatic effect that blindness can have on individuals and their families.[/p][p]Any donations can help to make a difference to millions of people suffering from curable blindness.[/p]
