My story

[p]As an employee of The Benjamin Foundation I have seen the tremendously positive difference our services can make to some of our most vulnerable children and young people. We desperately need funds to continue this work during this challenging time. (See below). Any amount however small will make a difference. [/p][p]I am fundraising by selling homegrown plants which can be collected from my driveway (please observe social distancing) and also doggie bandanas which can be posted. Please let me know which size you require.[/p][p]Thank you in advance [/p][p][br][/p][p]COVID-19 Emergency Fund[/p][p]Like most charities, the effect of COVID-19 has been hard-hitting. For us, the virus and current social distancing restrictions has forced the closure of our Norfolk Furniture Stores and Suffolk Re-use Shops, resulting in an immediate loss of money for our charity.[/p][p]This means we need your help now, more than ever.[/p][p]We know this is an extremely challenging and testing time for everybody but if you can make a donation to The Benjamin Foundation today, you will be helping local people as quickly as tomorrow.[/p][p]Our immediate need is to help our teams and young people in our services which prevent youth homelessness, including our accommodation centres throughout Norfolk and Suffolk.[/p][p]Our work to prevent local youth homelessness does not stop. While many people are able to work from home, our colleagues are delivering front-line, essential services to over 100 local, vulnerable young people each day, each night, 365 days a year, giving them a safe place to live, support and the skills they need to forge independent lives.[/p][p]Here’s how your donation can help us:[/p][p]Access to education and training: With the introduction of social distancing, many of the young people who are living with us right now are unable to access their usual support services, keep to their usual routines, or access their training and education – all important elements in helping them to move forward and ones which contribute to a noticeable reduction in negative influences and activities.[/p][p]Your donations will enable us to purchase laptops and/or workstations so the young people living with us can access online support, training and education.[/p][p]Positive activities: Many of the vulnerable young people we support suffer with poor mental health, such as depression and anxiety. The impact of not having their normal routines and day-to-day activities will be felt heavily, therefore being able to purchase activities, games, arts and crafts, and indoor gym equipment will help to ensure the young people we support can engage in mindful, positive activities.[/p][p]Food and essentials: We want to keep the young people who are living with us safe and well. We can reduce the amount of times they need to leave our accommodation to do their shopping by providing some food and essentials for them. A donation from you today will help us to do this for our young people living with us in our accommodation services in Norfolk and Suffolk at this difficult time.[/p][p]Our teams delivering front-line services are under more pressure than ever and they continue to provide amazing support and help to bring hope, opportunity, stability and independence to local people who need us.[/p][p]Please donate to our COVID-19 Emergency Fund - all money raised will help local people who need our help. You can make your donation via the link to our Virgin Money Giving page. Thank you so much for your support.[/p][vmgvideo class="ql-video" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="true" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/wqF3_zZpEPo?enablejsapi=1&origin=https%3A%2F%2Fuk.virginmoneygiving.com&widgetid=1?showinfo=0&rel=0&iv_load_policy=3" ][p][br][/p][/vmgvideo]
