Voluntarily living on just £2.86 per day for a week.[lt]/h3[gt][lt]h3[gt][lt]br /[gt]I haven't even started yet and already I am much more aware of discounts and special offers when I am food shopping. I spotted a kilo of sugar in Savers for only 45p and could not stop myself from snapping it up.[lt]/h3[gt][lt]h3[gt]Please give whatever you can.[lt]/h3[gt][lt]h2[gt]Thank you[lt]/h2[gt][lt]h3[gt][lt]span style="text-decoration: underline;"[gt]23rd November 2015[/span][lt]/h3[gt][p]Hi Everyone, [/p][p][lt]br /[gt]Well my breadline challenge is over. I hope in these blogs that I have given some idea of how much effort you need to put in to live on £2.86 a day. Find the final spreadsheet reckoning attached if you are interested. [/p][p][lt]br /[gt]Constantly looking for bargains, trawling all the supermarkets for the best deal on an item. Planning meals for the whole week to make the most of your £20.02, cooking from scratch as it's cheaper (Can I put a whole onion in or had I better save half for tomorrow?). Never being spontaneous, never going out with friends. [/p][p][lt]br /[gt]This weekend (as I have so many times before) I opened the fridge and did not fancy eating anything I saw there. This weekend I had no choice but another time I would just nip out and get something else. [/p][p][lt]br /[gt]That's the point I think came across to me most there is no choice, no freedom. Just endless 'can I afford this?', 'if I buy this then what do I have to give up instead?'. The fact that people have to live like this in what is the seventh most affluent country in the world is unbelievable and very sad. [/p][p][lt]br /[gt]Foodcycle are helping people on the breadline by giving them meals, I think they are probably helping as much by giving people someone to talk to at their dinners, someone who understands what living like this means. So if you can, please help.
