Team story

[p]Update 5 April 2019: We did it! After 3 days in the fells, 33 miles and just over 19 hours of walking, 2,682m elevation gain and 12 Wainwright's summited, we spelled KASIN with the initials of five lakeland fells [/p][p]Mission accomplished, we're a tad achey but very pleased to have achieved our challenge and so grateful for all your support and donations! [/p][p]___[/p][p][img][/img][/p][p]Kids at School in Nepal (KASIN) is a small charity founded in 2005 which is making a big difference to the lives of hundreds of Nepali children. [/p][p]Most teachers in remote schools have no formal training. KASIN works directly with schools, teachers and volunteers. The trustees of the charity do not claim expenses and all the money raised is used to provide opportunities for needy communities in Nepal. All of its funds go directly into projects, improving school facilities, providing teacher training, learning materials etc. [/p][p]Over three days, from Weds 3 to Fri 5 April, Sophie and Naomi will climb five Wainwright fells spelling out the initials KASIN; the Knott (739m), Angletarn Pikes (565m), Shipman Knotts (587m), Ill Bell (757m) and Nethermost Pike (891m). [/p][p]In 2018, KASIN funded a five day level 1 course run by the Early Childhood Education Centre for 25 primary school teachers from schools in the Phulkharka region of Nepal. Local headteachers will monitor and support the trainees during the coming year and select those that will go on to the next level. Any money we raise will go towards this project.[/p][p]We would be very grateful if you can help us support this worthy cause by making a donation.[/p]
