Team story

[p][img][/img]We are aiming to raise £18,000 to improve the Under 7’s playground at the KGV in Effingham and we would love your help! [/p][p]The Under 7’s playground was closed from August 2017 to February 2018 for safety reasons. The E.V.R.T trustees and the Parish Council were only able to do the essential work of replacing some of the flooring and the broken play tower, but the other play equipment is of similar age and the fencing is old and unsightly. The playground is in need of modernisation and improvement. [/p][p]We would like to raise at least £18,000 to replace equipment and install new fencing. [/p][p]On the 10th March we held our sponsored two mile Welly Walk around the KGV grounds, which was well attended by local families. Children were given a sheet of wildlife pictures to match against those on boards around the KGV grounds and were rewarded with stickers of welly boots by marshals placed around the ground. Each child was later given a certificate and medal. The walk was followed by refreshments including homemade cakes donated by residents and soft play equipment for the children set up by the Little Bookham & Effingham Preschool, which helped the organisers arrange the event. Parents were also consulted via displays and questionnaires about how they would like the Appeal funds spent and the playground improved. The event was enjoyed by everyone involved.[/p][p]The organisers would like to thank all those who contributed and helped with the event, especially the children who did the Welly Walk and their parents who accompanied them and the residents who volunteered to help, especially the marshals. We would also like to thank everyone making donations and sponsoring children on the Welly Walk and we will ensure that the money is well used.[/p][p]For information or any questions about the appeal please contact us at: Friendsofkgveffingham@gmail.com or see our Facebook page KGV Playground Appeal.[/p]
