Team story

[p]The Story so far[/p][p]2018. White Hat Ball. [/p][p]The inspiration. Sitting in the audience and listening to Dame Esther Rantzen and the moving stories from those that Childline and the NSPCC seek to help. [/p][p]Yes, despite all the food, drink and merriment that night, our overriding memory is the motivation we felt to raise money to help the NSPCC in it's mission to keep childhood free of abuse.[/p][p]The White Hat Charity[/p][p]The annual White Hat Ball, which is now a major event in the information risk and security industry, has been running for 14 years and during that time raised more than £1.7million for the NSPCC’s Childline service.[/p][p]This year's event was no different raising an incredible £193,000 for Childline.[/p][p]The how[/p][p]In April 2019, with 52 of our colleagues, we will be taking on the London Marathon and running 26.2 miles to raise funds for Childline and the NSPCC. Every step we take will be towards the better, safer futures of children across the UK. [/p][p]What could your donation do?[/p][p]The NSPCC are the only charity in the UK fighting to end child abuse and neglect and to give you an idea of the difference the money we raise will make, £2200 could pay for the NSPCC’s trained volunteer counsellors to answer 550 children’s calls to ChildLine. That’s 550 children that they wouldn’t be able to answer without the support of people like us. The NSPCC receives around 90% of their funding from generous supporters.[/p][p]£3 could pay for our Speak out Stay safe programme to reach 1 primary school child, giving them the knowledge to protect themselves from abuse[/p][p]£4 could pay for 1 of our trained volunteer counsellors to answer a child's call for help to Childline[/p][p]£5 could cover the cost of answering a call to the NSPCC helpline[/p][p]£25 could pay for a trained practitioner to deliver 1 hour of Pregnancy in Mind to help new parents with the ups and downs of having a baby[/p][p]£570 could cover the cost for our Speak out Stay safe programme to visit 1 primary school and speak to every child aged 5-11[/p][p]£1,600 could pay to recruit, train and support a new Childline volunteer.[/p][p]Please donate to help us reach our target and support the NSPCC in being there for all of the children who need them.[/p][p]How you can follow us:[/p][p]As it gets closer and closer to race day you can follow Saz on Instagram and running progress on Strava and we'll both be keeping this page up to date with our progress.[/p]
