My story

[p]'Don't Stop Me Now..'[/p][p]This is the Music For My Mind main fundraising page for the Vitality 10k 2019. We have a happy team of 4 fabulous runners to enjoy the streets of London this bank holiday Monday.[/p][p]Karen's story: I have only been running for about 4 years and this is my annual fundraiser for a very special charity. My training started in February. Music has been a huge part of my motivation and happiness whilst I have been out running, so why shouldn't we make it more available to those living with dementia to help with quality of life. Music for my Mind is all about researching and delivering ways in which we can do this both ethically and effectively, and ultimately aims to improve the quality of life for those living with dementia.[/p][p]Music for My Mind is an innovative start-up charity aiming to improve the well-being of people living with dementia (over 850,000 in the UK alone) and their families by creating, and making widely available, personalised music.[/p][p]Dementia affects everyone. We can bring relief and joy to millions of people, through the universal language of music. [/p][p]Who said you can’t break Mo Farah’s track record AND help people living with dementia at the same time? [/p][p]Funds raised through the 10K will go towards the overall running of the charity, in order for us to achieve our goal for every care home in Britain to have a music programme and for everyone living with dementia to benefit from music as an integral part of the therapy and care they receive.[/p]
