My story
[p]Maxine Nunn and I plan to take part in the Royal Parks Half Marathon, Sept 2018 to support our cousin and sister Nicola Shergold, 47 year old mother of three, diagnosed early this year with MS. She has received wonderful support and made a great network of friends through the MS-UK society. Every penny raised helps the society continue to work empowering people with multiple sclerosis. Their aim is to make sure they are always available to support people to have choice, control and independence. We'll keep you posted with our training plan and upcoming fund raising events….[/p][p]Fund raising event planned for Sat, 25th Aug @3PM - Family and Friends Garden Quiz.[/p][p]Test your general knowledge (there are categories for all ages and interests) and play against self forming teams of five. I've no doubt our quiz master Freddie Maclennan will keep us entertained along the way![/p][p]Our target is to raise £200+ on the day and will be our final event, so hopefully we will reach our overall target of £800. The cost is £10 per person, which includes a glass of Pimms on arrival, soft drinks through- out plus nibbles and prizes for the winning teams. There is a raffle on the day with exciting prizes! You are welcome to bring your own alcoholic beverages.[/p][p]Where?[/p][p]Karen's garden - contact Maxine Nunn, Paula Smith, Nicola Shergold, Tina Shergold or Karen for directions.[/p][p]Time for Tea - Sun, 8th July - afternoon tea[/p][p]A huge THANK YOU for your contributions and support for Sunday's afternoon tea event. We definitely had good weather on our side and based on feedback, people said they had a lovely relaxing afternoon. We are in the process of uploading everyone's contributions to the site and will publish shortly amounts raised on the day…we think close to / around the £200 mark, which is excellent.[/p][p]Congratulations to Liz our lucky raffle winner - well done![/p]
