My story

[p]March 2017 I was diagnosed with a left wing sphenoid meningioma. It was a shock it was devastating and at that time I thought I was going to die.[/p][p]My daughter Natalie was standing next to me in the kitchen when I took that phone call , Karen , yes I said , are you at home , yes I said, are you alone , no I said. I’m sorry but it’s bad news you have a massive tumour and we need you to come to the hospital immediately. I watched Natalie fall to the floor crying but stayed calm. I called each and everyone who needed to know at that moment and listened with a breaking heart to the reaction you never want to experience. I was admitted and spent 2 nights in AandE then sent home with life saving drugs to keep me going until the team of surgeons could give me a date they would all be available. It was a massive task just arranging them. June 13th arrived 8am I walked into the operating theatre climbed onto the table and waited to be put to sleep!!!! With that I totally lost the plot and began to try and leave saying I can’t do this I need to go!!!! Thankfully the doctors talked me down and promised they would take good care of me. I didn’t want to die I wanted to stay with my children I couldn’t leave them!!!! What would they do if I wasn’t there. It was to much to bare, I knew if I didn’t take the risk I faced ,this tumour was going to kill me anyway.[/p][p]8am I was knocked out 5.30pm I was woken up, it was all over and I made it.[/p][p]some of the photographs explain more than words can to what happens next. They show from who you are to what you become.[/p][p]Im here I’m alive , it’s a long hard road in front of me but I’m getting there.[/p][p]My family are my hero’s . Steve , My children James, Natalie,Luke,Kai and Ben. My daughter in law Natalie and my beautiful grandson Arthur who arrived in November. [/p][p]Deb and Louise my sisters , brothers in laws john , ross all my nieces and nephews.[/p][p]WHEN IM WITH YOU, IM STANDING WITH AN ARMY [/p][p]ellie Goulding x[/p][p]The reason I’m doing this is to raise money and awareness of brain tumours because it wasn’t just about me ,everyone fell apart and I was being treated for headaches and the menopause? This could of been anyone of you or someone you love. No one knows for sure ,how, why , who, these tumours will affect so early diagnosis is key, knowledge of them for GPs is key but all of this costs money and here is something you probably don’t know, brain tumours are the least funded of nearly all diseases out there, and they affect so many.[/p][p]Help me give something back I’m worth it but so are you and so is the next person who’s life will be saved because we care.[/p][p]PLEASE HIT DONATE IF YOU CAN BUT PLEASE HIT THE SHARE BUTTON LETS GET THIS OUT THERE IT MAY SAVE SOMEONE YOU LOVE TOO.[/p][p]Thank you [/p][p]BRILLIANT NEWS !!!!!!!!!!!!![/p][p]Sarah the CEO of the brain tumour Charity is abseiling with me??[/p][p]This incredible woman pushed me half way round the twilight walk in Warwick last year and has not only offered to accompany me down the orbit but to add any funds raised , to this page and my target.[/p][p]I can not believe the love and support ,I’m truly blessed.[/p][p]WHEN IM WITH YOU , IM STANDING WITH AN ARMY [/p]
