My story

[p]I have always wanted to complete a triathlon and the year 2020 holds several milestones for my family: I am 50, so I will be cycling 50k; my daughter is 18, so I will be running 18k and my husband and I will be celebrating our 3rd anniversary so I will be swimming 3k. All donations given will be split between Prostate Cancer UK and Philomusica of Gloucestershire and Worcestershire.[/p][p][br][/p][p]All three of us sing for Philomusica, a choral society that rehearses and performs in Gloucestershire and Worcestershire and also raises money for charity in the process. The routes that I have chosen pass rehearsal and performance venues that are important to the choir. Unfortunately, several of our friends and family have prostate cancer and I would like to support Prostate Cancer UK in their work. Previously, we have canoed 100 miles of the Wye (in a boat that we built ourselves) and so the swimming part of the triathlon will take place in the Wye. Philomusica champions the work of Edward Elgar, who wrote a section of his 'Spirit of England' entitled 'The Fourth of August' so this seems the appropriate date for the challenge to begin.[/p]
