My story

[p]Hi, thanks for visiting my page. Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.[/p][p]MY little Monty was born on 2nd July 2017 at 07:50am weighing 8lb 12oz full term. His birth did not quite go as planned and was delivered by an emergency  Caesarian Section, as a result shortly after birth Monty became unwell and was admitted to the Neonatal Unit at Treliske. [/p][p]After almost a week Monty was discharged and joined me in the post natal ward. This was such a worrying heart breaking time for us, that we did not expect to have to go through and wouldn't wish anyone to have to go through. [/p][p]From labour, to delivery to the Neonatal unit everyone was brilliant, kind, caring and reassuring at our time in need. The new Neonatal unit is lovely, but could benefit further from funding for further  equipment/facilities for babies and families. The delivery suite is very tired, dated and does not offer much choice or options during labour or delivery and would benefit from further funding to develop into a much more modern unit to offer better facilities and options for local parents and babies.p[/p][p]To help support this cause, I am planning on walking 100 miles throughout September with Monty in his pram and (sometimes) with Molly the dog. This is an average of 3.3 miles per day! Monty's daddy will be joining me when not working along with other guest walkers!  I will also be giving up chocolate for the whole of September! I would be so grateful for any sponsorship, even £1 would be a great help. [/p][p]thank you, Katie and Monty x x x [/p][p]15th Sept 2017 - half way through the month and completed 52 miles so far! That's also 15 days without Chocolate! Only 48 Miles's to go![/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p]

I'm a friend of Gemma's and I'm donating for 3 reasons - as a chocoholic I am super impressed with someone managing a whole month without chocolate, never mind walking 100 miles! I share your little Monty's birthday. And what a worthy cause! All the best!
