My story

[p]I've decided to raise a bit of cash for London Air Ambulance. [/p] [p]Helicopters are awesome. [/p] [p]I had first hand experience of this when Katie was whisked away to hospital by a military helicopter after she broke her ankle. [/p] [p]If these services did not exist, we'd all be worse off when an accident happens.[/p] [p]And these bad boys cost a lot to run! [/p][lt]p style="text-align: center;"[gt][lt]img src="http://assets8.heart.co.uk/2011/12/london-air-ambulance-3-1300792476-article-0.jpg" alt="air ambulance crew in da house" width="244" height="130" /[gt][/p] [p]I'll be cycling 100 miles in RIDELONDON, after learning to do proper road cycling in the last few months (sort of). [/p] [p]This event started after the Olympics, and is a bit like the London Marathon for bikes. I think it will take me about 6-7 hours, but really I have no idea. I'm not saying it's as hard or as easy as a Marathon. I have no idea! [/p] [p]I still can't get up hills very well, and it hurts every fibre of my being. If you pledge a bit of cash it will help me as well as the charity.  The thought of not letting anyone down will make me suffer more until the veins pop out of my skull or until the pedals fall off. [/p] [p]If this does not make you give, I managed to finish my first Half-Marathon earlier this year, which hurt like hell near the end, especially as was slightly injured. Made it in 2 hours and 32 seconds. I hate that it was not under two hours. Maybe next year? [/p] [p]The other big challenge I have this year is the London Duathlon. This is a bit like a Triathlon, but without that annoying swimming part. I'd probably drown so it's for the best. The Duathlon consists of 10km Run, 44km Bike and then a 5k run. All easily doable on their own, but we'll wait and see what the damage is when you combine them.[/p] [p]So donate for these challenges too! [/p][p][/p][p]Proof of work + data lovers paradise = https://www.strava.com/athletes/3357009[/p]
