My story

[p]After an incredibly challenging backend to 2017 were my eldest daughter was involved in a serious accident ... I just knew i needed to focus my energy on something incredibly positive. A great friend had got a charity place for the london marathon 2018 and asked me if I’d like to do it with her . This was great timing for me personally and achieving such an incredible achievement with a friend made it incredibly powerful. Last year was my first marathon experience and it completely changed my life .. I am reliving every step with Gill , every emotion you experience training for 26.2 miles all the blood sweat and tears .. the tight muscles , lost toenails , aches and pains that all disappear the minute you feel the weight of that medal around your neck and the incredible difference your sponsor money will make . This year I am lucky enough to run for the amazing charity LAM [/p][p]LAM Action is the UK charity for those with Lymphangioleiomyomatosis (LAM), their families and doctors caring for them.[/p][p]LAM is a rare lung disease that occurs almost exclusively in women. For every million women approximately 7 will have LAM. We are aware of approximately 350 women in the United Kingdom who have LAM and around 25 new cases are diagnosed each year. It appears to occur worldwide and to be equally rare in other countries.[/p][p]LAM predominantly affects the lungs, where it causes excessive growth of smooth muscle cells which progressively destroy lung tissue and erode lung function. Although research is ongoing, currently there is no cure for LAM and effective treatment is limited. For some women with LAM lung transplantation is their only means of survival. [/p][p]Thank you for taking the time to read my page , any amount of money will make a huge difference with this incredible charity . I am currently up to 18 miles in training please help me to help LAM .[/p][p]Thank you Xx[/p]
