My story

[p]In April 2018 I will be running the London Marathon. For what is undoubtedly the most physically challenging task I have ever set myself, I wanted to support a charity that meant something to me personally. Not surprisingly, I have therefore chosen The Ectopic Pregnancy Trust.[/p][p][br][/p][p] [/p][p]Ectopic Pregnancy is a common, life threatening condition that is the leading cause of death in early pregnancy. It affects 1 in 80 pregnancies in the UK and women who suffer have to face the physical trauma of major invasive treatment, their own mortality, the impact on their future fertility and the sad loss of losing their baby all very quickly. This can be a very frightening and distressing experience.[/p][p] [/p][p]The Ectopic Pregnancy Trust believes that the deaths and trauma associated with ectopic pregnancy should be prevented or minimised and seeks to support women and their families through this difficult period of their lives. The Charity also provides Information, Education and Support to medical professionals who treat early pregnancy complications.[/p][p]Misdiagnosis of ectopic pregnancies is unfortunately common. Both of mine were initially misdiagnosed. The second nearly killed me. I am exceptionally lucky though. I have a fantastic, healthy, 15 year old son. Many women suffering ectopic pregnancies are not so fortunate.[/p][p]If I can do anything to raise awareness of The Ectopic Pregnancy Trust and raise money to enable them to support other families having to go through what we did, running 26 miles will be worth it.[/p][p]Thank you for your support.[/p][p]Kerry x[/p][p] [/p][p][br][/p][p] Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.[/p][vmgvideo class="ql-video" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="true" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/ccsW0AIFfHM?showinfo=0&rel=0&iv_load_policy=3"][/vmgvideo]
