My story

[p][br][/p][p]Hi all![/p][p]As you may have guessed, this April I’ll be running in the London Marathon for Villiers Park. [/p][p]For those of you who haven’t heard of it before, Villiers Park Educational Trust is a social mobility charity - meaning they help young people from less advantaged backgrounds to receive equal opportunities and reach their potentials. [/p][p]To do this, they run a ‘scholars programme’; which offers a group of students from across the country the chance to receive support from the programme during their studies. Each student is assigned a mentor, who will help them with everything from revision, to interview practice. Villiers also run residential courses on a variety of subjects at their campus in Foxton, and scholars are able to attend one of these.[/p][p]The reason I want to run the marathon for VP is because the organisation has actually done a lot for me. I was fortunate enough to be offered a place on the scholars programme two years ago, and am planning on studying Veterinary Medicine at university next year. I know for a fact I would’ve struggled to get to where I am today without support from the programme - so in case you’re skeptical about whether it all actually works, I can assure you it does!
