Team story

[p]Lejoggers for CRY are Andy Howe and Stuart Lawson.[/p][p]Well. we did it! Between 22nd and 30th July, we cycled from Lands End to John O'Groats with a couple of pals. The route covered 952 miles, an average of around 105 miles per day. What a rewarding adventure it was![/p][p]Starting out in Cornwall, the first two days were, probably, the toughest cycling. 12 hour days, a few mechanical issues to deal with and searing heat - we got through a lot of water! We were joined by cycling friends at various stages for the next three days which took us to Garstang in Lancashire. Then over the fells of Cumbria, into Scotland and some of the most beautiful countryside of the ride. We worked our way through Glencoe, past Loch Ness and, eventually up to John O'Groats where we were cheers in by a welcoming party of family and friends![/p][p]We cycled to raise funds for CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young) in memory of sister and brother Jennifer and David Paul, the only children of Stuart's cousin, Helen and her husband Gordon. Jenni and David were vibrant, talented, fun loving and seemingly healthy young people who, because of sudden heart failure, didn't make it to adulthood. Their Mum & Dad don't want to see other parents go through what they have endured and, with your support, we can work towards finding a way of eliminating the chances of it happening to other young people.[/p][p]CRY funds research into screening and the causes of sudden death in young adults, raises awareness and provides support for those bereaved in such tragic circumstances. For more information, go to their website: www.c-r-y.org.uk[/p][p]Even though our adventure has ended, there's still time to make a donation and we appreciate every penny that has been given so far.[/p][p]Thank you for your support![/p]
