My story

[p]Hello, my name is Libby Cantwell and I am 11 years old. Thank you for taking the time to read my story.....[/p][p]Let me tell you a bit about myself to begin with.....[/p][p]I have always had a strong affection for all animals big, small, creepy or crawly. I have had 4 pets including a rabbit named Fudge, a chick named Cheeps, and two cats; a boy named Tigger and a girl named Violet. Unfortunately, Fudge passed away a few years back and sadly had to give Cheeps back to the farm as he was a "Cock-a-doo-dull-dooer". Now I only have my two cats Tigger and violet (that I love very much!) I would gladly have a thousand cats in my home if my parents let me :-).[/p][p]Let me tell you a bit about the farm I was talking about. This farm wasn't massive but it was a charity run organisation, set up to help vulnerable children with learning difficulties. Animals possess such special and magical qualities; the children who struggled to communicate with the outside world that attended this farm, found that just being round the animals would make them feel more relaxed and confident and secure in this environment. They had lots of friendly, cute animals like: Pigs, Rabbits, Alpacas, Chickens, Horses and goats. I would help tend to these animals by cleaning out their pens/coops etc, feeding them and giving them plenty of love!! [/p][p]Animals have so much to offer. They make great companions for millions of people. For many, animals such as dogs, provide a lifeline and give hope back to those who are vulnerable such as the visually impaired. Furthermore, it has recently been scientifically proven that by spending time with our pets, relaxing and cuddling them, can benefit our own personal health by reducing our heart rates and lowing blood pressure! [/p][p]SO - This year I have decided to set myself a goal by trying to raise as much money as I possibly can for the RSPCA. I will do loads of challenging, fun events like: Hiking, Running, Cycling, Abseiling, Rock-climbing, baking cakes and selling them, swimming and much more. [/p][p]Before every challenge I intend to do, I will post details of what I am doing via Facebook (with a little help from my mum) with the link you can use to access my donating page. The money you kindly donate will go straight to the RSPCA so they can continue caring for the animals in every possible way. The reason I set up this fundraising event is because I love all animals and I want to be apart of the RSPCA when I'm older!! Thank you so much in anticipation of your support throughout my journey!![/p][p]Libby Cantwell x[/p]
