My story

[p]Hi and thank you for coming through to my fundraising page.[/p][p]Now is the time for me to tell my story and why I am taking on the challenge of running the Virgin London Marathon so here goes. As you will know I am not designed to run especially for a long time so this is going to be tough.[/p][p]I am running in loving memory and honour of my baby Girl Maisie Hammond and for the amazingly supportive charity SANDs.[/p][p]Maisie is our beautiful second daughter, she was born on the 18th of February 2016. Maisie was born at 23wks 4 days and weighed 1lb 1oz. Our perfect little girl was not meant for this world and being born before 24wks she was not eligible for a birth certificate.[/p][p]Kylie and I got to spend precious time with Maisie at Frimley Park hospital in an amazing calm and special environment all supported by SANDS. [/p][p]When it came to saying goodbye I made a promise to Maisie that I would do something great in her honour, raise a lot of money and make her name and life touch as many people as I could.[/p][p]Maisie means precious pearl hence her image with her brother and sister. Penelope, her older sister still talks about her baby sister that lives in the stars. Parker Beau is our third child and our little rainbow boy, for after a storm there’s a rainbow.[/p][p]Now to SANDS... the level of continued support this amazing charity offer is phenomenal. Through the hardest of times they gave us momentos to hold on to with hand prints and footprints of our angel. Two teddies one to stay with our beautiful girl and one to come home with us. They provided photos, gems and most importantly dignity for our princess.[/p][p]Once we started to heal they gave support, services and beautiful locations to remember. Wave of light, rememberance gardens and annual rememberance services to name a few.[/p][p]If I can offer just one family the support we have received and have 100s of thousands of spectators see Maisie’s name on my shirt it will all be worth it.[/p][p]Please dig deep, help me continue to heal and raise a huge amount of money[/p][p]Love and thanks[/p][p]Lee[/p]
