My story

[p]LESLIE CLARKE[/p][p]30 MILE CHARITY WALK[/p][p]AUGUST BANK HOLIDAY SATURDAY[/p][p]29 AUGUST 2020[/p][p][br][/p][p]Dear Friend and Colleague, [/p][p]Having recently spent two years having undergoing and surviving a serious operations on my left ankle and following that with a very serious injury to my left lower leg, surviving thus far the Covid 19 pandemic, I have managed , and despite my best efforts, recently managed reached my 86th birthday.[/p][p]I have decided therefore that I should do something to commemorate all the above and do something for those less fortunate than me. [/p][p]So, on August Holiday Saturday, 29 August, I am going to do a walk around Normandy Village which has a convenient 3 mile circuit which I intend to walk 10 times making a 30 mile charity walk.[/p][p]I will be raising funds for two charities close to my heart both which are desperate for more financial support, namely “Combat Stress” , the Services Mental Health charity which is well known and the less well known “Step by Step” a Teenage Homelessness charity which operates in Berkshire, Hampshire and Surrey.[/p][p]“Step by Step” rescues homeless teenagers, accommodates them, teaches them life skills, helps them to find employment and continues to support them until they are 21.[/p][p]The money raised will be split equally between the 2 charities.[/p][p]Each 3 mile circuit of Normandy will take me about an hour so the whole walk will take about 10 hour. So, I will be starting at about 7.00 AM on the 29th August and will, hopefully, complete the walk by 5.00 PM.[/p][p]If anyone wants to join me for all or any part of the walk or turn out cheer me on you will be more than welcome.[/p][p][br][/p][p]PLEASE GIVE GENEROUSLY TO SUPPORT THESE VERY DESERVING CHARITIES[/p][p][br][/p][p][br][/p][p][br][/p]
