My story

[p]As the fault of Prostate Cancer, I lost not only my great grandfather, but with it a role model and personal inspiration to me. [/p][p]1 in 8 men in the UK suffer with Prostate Cancer at some stage in their life, which means almost everyone suffers as a result of this illness. To support Prostate Cancer UK's simple ambition - 'to stop men dying from Prostate Cancer' - I am both organising, and taking part in, a 24-hour treadmill event, hosted at Josephine Butler College from 9am on Tuesday 12th June to the same time on Wednesday 13th. [/p][p]Taking place in the college's gym and with the support of fellow students, my objective is to keep the treadmill moving for the entire 24 hours, adopting the challenge of accumulating as many miles as possible in doing so, in order to raise both awareness and funds for the work Prostate Cancer UK does, and to go beyond their ambition in both stopping men dying from Prostate Cancer and thus causing an end to the suffering of millions of people around the world. [/p][p]"Each one of us can make a difference. Together we make change" (Barbara Mikulski).[/p]
