My story

[p]I have been fortunate to have gained a place in the London Marathon 2019 to run for a very special charity, Mind. [/p][p]Mind is a mental health charity which provides support and advice to those whom are struggling with such an illness. They use their money to improve services, raise awareness and to promote understanding of this very difficult topic. [/p][p]As many of you will be aware, my brother, Sam, suffered from severe depression and anxiety. In December 2017 he could cope no more and unfortunately took his own life. A young gentlemen who had a successful career, friends and life ahead of him was ashamed and embarrassed with this illness he suffered from and sadly it overpowered him. [/p][p]Mental health is the single biggest killer in men under the age of 45, with the current number being 84 taking their own life every week. Unfortunately, my brother is now a statistic but with the money raised, charities such as Mind can try and improve this and help prevent the loss to other families.[/p][p]I felt compelled to do something that challenged me which would not only raise money to help others who may be in a similar situation to that of my brother's, but also to turn this tragic story into something positive. [/p][p]I have been running on and off for the past couple of years but never run further than 10K. This is going to be a massive test and challenge but I am 100% prepared to give it my all if it means helping those suffering and doing something positive. [/p][p]If you feel able to donate it would mean a huge amount to me and the charity.
