My story

[lt]p style="margin-top: 0.833em; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0.833em; margin-left: 0px; padding: 0px;"[gt]I think most of us have been affected by Cancer at some point in our lives.  I myself have lost several people I love to this horrible disease – my nan, granddad, aunt, uncle and godmother – but, I’ve also been lucky enough to see my mum beat it and my best friend’s aunt is currently winning her battle against it too.[/p][lt]p style="margin-top: 0.833em; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0.833em; margin-left: 0px; padding: 0px;"[gt]I decided last year that I wanted to take part in charity events to raise funds for charities that are close to my heart, and this year have been supporting Cancer Research UK and Macmillan by giving up one thing each month that I love.[/p][lt]p style="margin-top: 0.833em; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0.833em; margin-left: 0px; padding: 0px;"[gt]However, I felt that wasn't enough, so, spur of the moment I decided to enter the Shine London Walk in aid of Cancer Research UK.  There were two options - a half or full marathon.  Me being me (ie stupid) I opted for the full 26.2 miles.[/p][lt]p style="margin-top: 0.833em; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0.833em; margin-left: 0px; padding: 0px;"[gt]I'm not a naturally fit or sporty person.  I would choose sitting down with a glass of prosecco over doing exercise any day of the week, so this is going to be really hard for me.  But, no matter how hard it gets or how terrible I feel, it's nothing compared to the daily struggles of those battling Cancer.[/p][lt]p style="margin-top: 0.833em; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0.833em; margin-left: 0px; padding: 0px;"[gt][/p][lt]p style="margin-top: 0.833em; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0.833em; margin-left: 0px; padding: 0px;"[gt]Thank you in advance to each and every one of you that donates, it means the world to me.[/p][lt]p style="margin-top: 0.833em; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0.833em; margin-left: 0px; padding: 0px;"[gt][/p][lt]p style="text-align: center; margin-top: 0.833em; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0.833em; margin-left: 0px; padding: 0px;"[gt]In memory of Nanna, Grandad, Brian, Paula and Eileen xxxxx[/p][lt]p style="margin-top: 0.833em; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0.833em; margin-left: 0px; padding: 0px;"[gt][/p][lt]p style="margin-top: 0.833em; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0.833em; margin-left: 0px; padding: 0px;"[gt]PS  I decided to use Virgin Money Giving as they are a not-for-profit organisation unlike some other fundraising websites, so more of the money goes to the charities.  Also, if you’re eligible for Gift Aid please do click the button as that means the charities receive an extra couple of pounds and every penny really does count in our fight against Cancer.[/p] [lt]p style="margin-top: 0.833em; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0.833em; margin-left: 0px; padding: 0px;"[gt][/p] [lt]br /[gt][lt]p style="margin-top: 0.833em; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0.833em; margin-left: 0px; text-align: center; padding: 0px;"[gt][/p]
