Team story

[p][span=color: #003366;]Update 14th November 2013[/span][/p][p][span=color: #003366;]Last night my friend John and I dressed as penguins, dashed around Canary Wharf and ran straight into the Guinness World Record books. We were two of 325 people gathered together dressed as penguins, the largest such colony in the world, to date.[/span][/p][p][span=color: #003366;]Many thanks to all those who sponsored us. It's not to late if you would still like to. Please just click on the donate now button. Many thanks.[/span][/p][p][span=color: #003366;]Enjoy the photos :)[/span][/p][p][span=color: #003366;]Martin & John, world record Emperor's.[/span][/p][p][span=color: #003366;]              -----------------------------------------------------[/span][/p][p][span=color: #003366;]Hello everyone,[/span][/p][p][span=color: #003366;]I'm at it again, asking all you kind and generous people to sponsor me. This time though, it's not so much the challenge but the reason. If you have ever had a poorly child you'll know how it affects your life, even if just for a day, such as not going to work to provide child care. How a poorly child pulls at you heart. Can you imagine what it would be like to live with a seriously ill or even a dying child? The effects on that child, on you, on the child's siblings and indeed other loving family members? Any help would be most welcome, and often comes from the many hospices available. Today, I am focusing on one particular hospice, the Richard House Children's Hospice. Whilst I have no direct link with this particular hospice, I value the support and work any hospice offers. In this instance, the Richard House Children's Hospice are organising the event that I, John and some other friends of our's from our cycle club, Liphook Easy Riders have agreed to participate in.[/span][/p][p][span=color: #003366;]So what are we doing? We will be completing a 2k course dressed as penguins. In addition should more than 250 people participate then we will beat the Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of people dressed as penguins. As I said, it's not so much the challenge, but the reason, that I ask for your kind donations.[/span][/p][p][span=color: #003366;]However, it you want me to sweat and work hard for your donation then I shall. As this Sunday, 27th October, my daughter, Laura, and I will be running 10 miles in the Great South Run around Portsmouth. The event is televised so look out for us between the thunder clouds that are expected.[/span][/p][p][span=color: #003366;]Thanks for visiting our page. Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor us and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charitie. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on the charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. We really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.[/span][/p][p][span=color: #003366;]Martin[/span][/p][p][span=color: #003366;]Go on p.p.p.p. pick up your mouse and click on donate now :)[/span][/p][p][span=color: #003366;]PS. So the Great South Run all done. At the 8 mile point Laura and I were on target to finish around the two hour mark, but then we turned the corner to head along the sea front and literally got pushed backwards by the very, very strong head wind. It was like running four more miles, one step forward, one step just to stop being blown backwards. The head wind also took you're breath away. By far the hardest run I have ever done. We did finish though, in 2 hours 18 minutes. Not fast, but we did it. Loved the free Jelly Babies handed out at the nine mile mark :) Deep Joy.[lt]br /[gt][/span][/p]
