My story

[p]My Grandad Stan was diagnosed with prostate cancer in late 2015. It is likely that he had it for at least 10 years prior to being diagnosed and by this point, it had already spread to his bones. 46 months later, he passed away on Friday 6th September 2019. [/p][p]In August 2019, I decided after 12 attempts of running the London Marathon via the ballot, I was going to apply via for a charity place. I chose Prostate Cancer Research Centre. I found out I had been allocated a place just 4 days after my Grandad died. [/p][p]So now the hard work begins. I have 31 weeks to get ready for the marathon on 26th April 2020. [/p][p]Death rates for prostate cancer are still increasing whilst death rates for breast cancer are on the decline. Prostate Cancer Research Centre (PCRC) is a smaller charity. They focus purely on research. They focus purely on making sure there are effective treatments in the future for men with advanced prostate cancer, which is responsible for almost all prostate cancer deaths. [/p][p]Please help me raise as much money for this important research to continue. [/p][p]Wish me luck...I'm going to need it! [/p]
