Team story

[p]Thanks for visiting the Dennos Ronners Fundraising Page. [/p][p]We are a 12-strong team of young and old(ish), experienced marathoners, and runners taking on their first marathon challenge. Read more about each team member below. [/p][p]Together we are united in our efforts to raise funds for the Ron Pickering Memorial Fund. The RPMF is a charity who provides small grants which give disadvantaged kids across the UK the chance to chase their athletic dreams. Small charities are often overlooked in favour of larger charities, but they still do an amazing job giving back to their communities. The RPMF has changed thousands of lives and laid the foundation for amazing achievements. [/p][p]Please help us raise funds to help the next generation of runners. Donations of every size are welcome and appreciated. [/p][p]Thanks for your donation, [/p][p]The Dennos [/p][p][span=font-weight: bold; text-decoration: underline;]Who are the Dennos Ronners? [/span][/p][p]Alice: Alice is an accomplished half marathoner and looking to make the jump at the marathon distance by tackling London. She's nervous, but also very excited to take on this massive challenge. She's equally excited to to raise plenty of money for a very worthy cause.[/p][p]Jemima: Jemima calls herself a wannabe runner, despite having completed multiple marathons. It started with a spontaneous whim to run the famed NYC marathon in 2015, and a "never again" promise to herself. That changed after watching fellow Dennos Steve D and Sarah run Berlin in 2016, which led to Jemima and Matt, Sarah's huband, to sign up for Chicago 2017. An unorthodox ending in Chicago made Jemima even more determined to knock off London and drive for her World Majors 6-star finisher medal. She's hoping that with London being her home marathon, she can finish in style and with less dramatics than Chicago! If she's not running, you'll find Jemima watching cricket, usually with her feet up and drinking a glass of champagne. [/p][p]Michele: Michele's marathon journey only started in April 2017 with the Paris marathon, and quickly snowballed. London will be her 4th marathon in 12 months, following Berlin and Valencia. She's also chasing the Abott World Majors 6-star finisher medal, and chasing her first sub-4 marathon for London. When she's not running, Michele is also a barre instructor and biggest cheer squad for her husband, who is an avid marathoner and triathlete.[/p][p]Sona: Sona caught the running bug last summer and hasn’t looked back since. After a year of half marathon races (and an ultra in Dec 2017) London will be her first ever marathon. When she isn’t running..well you can find her trying out a fitness class somewhere in London![/p][p]Steve D: Steve caught the 26.2 running bug at 48, and London will be his 8th marathon. A passionate cricket fan (YCCC of course), he also supports his hometown football and rugby clubs, Leeds United and Leeds Rhinos. Steve has 3 kids: Jess and Charlie, who are part of Dennos Ronners, and Rory, who wasn't convinced to join the marathon team - this time. [/p][p]Steve M: Steve is 35, and London will be his 3rd marathon, completing both London (4:15) and York (3:55) in 2013. He's aiming for a sub 3:55 in London and getting that new PB. When he's not running, Steve pounds the pavement as a Postie in a villagge near Barnsley. [/p][p]Lauren: Coming soon[/p][p]Jess: Coming soon[/p][p]Sarah: [/p][p]Matt: Coming soon[/p][p]Rachel: Coming soon[/p][p]Sona: Coming soon[/p][p]Charlie: Coming soon[/p][p][/p]
