Team story

[p][/p][p]UPDATE [/p][p]WE HAVE NOW COMPLETED THE CHALLENGE. WE WALKED OVER 50 MILES DURING THE 25 HOURS. ALL SURVIVED  AND FINISHED. A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL THE BACK UP TEAM AND SUPPORTERS [/p][p]DONATIONS WOULD STILL BE GRATEFULLY RECEIVED. [/p][p][/p][p]Thank you so much for supporting the London 25 team to raise money for two charities that we really believe make a huge difference to the lives of so many people. [/p] [p]WE ARE RAISING THE BAR AND GOING THAT EXTRA MILE - £50,000 IS OUR NEW TARGET. THANK YOU TO ALL OUR SUPPORTERS. [/p] [p]To see a patient severely disabled by the crippling disease of osteoporosis is so distressing and very annoying when it can, on many occasions, be prevented. The National Osteoporosis Society is an amazing resource that is helping prevent this disease. I have seen at first hand the improvement this society can make to so many people's lives and want to see this continue for years to come [/p] [p][/p] [p]We all will have to meet our end one day - to have professionals supporting you and your family is what we all want. I have seen this with my father and other loved ones  - that is why I want to support Weldmar [/p] [p][/p] [p]So what is our challenge?[/p] [p][/p] [p]On 25th May 25 of us are going to walk for 25 hours around London to raise £50,000 for these two Charities that in my opinion do superb work that can really improve the quality of the lives of so many. [/p][p]Do follow us on twitter as we will be sending live updates during our challenge. Click on the link below.[/p][p][/p][p]We also have a facebook page to follow us and post pictures as the photo link on this site is not working. follow this link:[/p][p][/p][p]LONDON25_25_25[/p] [p][/p] [p]Below is a quote from MARK SHAND who will be walking or I will be pushing![/p] [p] [/p] [p]‘These two charities are really important to myself and my family. Our grandmother and mother suffered from severe osteoporosis for many years and passed away unnecessarily early in complete agony. Both my sisters are devoted supporters and Camilla, HRH The Duchess of Cornwall, became President of the National Osteoporosis Society in 2001 – the first charity that she officially supported. This walk is not going to be easy for me as I have two replaced hips, caused by falling off too many elephants! However, I will attempt to complete as much of the walk as humanly possible and I do have a back-up – Michael Dooley has promised to carry me in a wheelbarrow!’[/p] [p] [/p] [p]Mark Shand[/p] [p]Co-Founder[/p] [p]Elephant Family[/p] [p][/p] [p][/p] [p][/p] [p]Also please see below a quote from PAULA RADCLIFFE[/p] [p][/p] [p]"What a great idea for a very worthy cause. Michael's expertise in the field of sports gynaecology is rare and second to none. How hormonal imbalances and the female triad affect our bodies and affect athletic performance as well  general health is fascinating. Raising awareness of the dangers and problems of Osteoporosis is vital and this is such a fun and engaging way to do so. Please support."[/p] [p] [/p] [p]Thank you so much for your support [/p] [p][/p] [p]Michael Dooley and London 25 Team[/p]
