My story

[p]Saturday June 21st - The Longest Day I shall attempt to run my Longest Run![/p][p]Starting at one minute past midnight I shall set out to run 100 miles on an athletics track![/p][p]Venue will be Graham Sports Centre Athletics Track, Maiden Castle, Durham.[/p][p][/p][p]100 miles.... 1 Day.... 2 Charities![/p][p][/p][p]The chosen charities ......[/p][p][/p][p]Retired Greyhound Trust One dark November evening 2008 a greyhound literally turned up on the doorstep cold, wet, scared and hungry, obviuosyl surplus to racing requirements and abandoned. After providing shelter, bedding, food for the night, he was taken to the local kennels who provide a rehoming scheme if not claimed by the owner. After 9 days I returned to said kennels to find him still there looking for a home, so I claimed him, that greyhound is Prince Archie, he certainly "fell on his paws" that night and we have enjoyed great company together ever since. However, not all greyhounds are so lucky as Archie and RGT are dedicated for providing loving homes for greyhounds when their racing days are over.[lt]br /[gt][/p][p][lt]br /[gt][/p][p]Finlay Cooper Fund Formed in August 2006 by former Middlesbrough player and now current Hartlepool United manager Colin Cooper and his wife Julie in memory of their son after having tragically lost Finlay through a choking accident. The fund requires much needed finance to help children's charities throughout the region.[lt]br /[gt][/p][p]You will appreciate that my challenge is a tough challenge and hopefully my efforts will be rewarded by your kind generosity, so please donate and help me to help these two chosen and worthy charities.[/p][p]Thank you,[/p][p]Paul[/p][p][/p]
