My story

[p]Thank you to TVF’s wonderful supporters who joined me CaptainTom100 challenge helping to ensure his fantastic fundraising legacy lives on by walking 10km on Sunday 2nd May 2021. [/p][p]We are aiming to raise £700+ in support of The Victoria Foundation to fund toolkit grants for medical students facing great financial hardship during their studies. TVF toolkit grants help to provide medical students with the resources they urgently need including textbooks, study materials, medical equipment or travel to a hospital placement. [/p][p]TVF aims to award over 100 toolkit grants each year - we urgently need to raise funds to be able to continue to support so many medical students during their studies on their way to becoming the NHS junior doctors of the future. [/p][p]Please give what you can - every donation will help to make this happen![/p][p]Thank you so much from TVF's Team and me![/p][p]Gaby, Gaynor, Graham, Hazel, Heather, Jackie, Julie, Martin, Nikki, Norman & Paloma[/p][p]#CaptainTom100[/p][p]On 6 April 2020, Captain Tom Moore set out round his garden to thank our NHS heroes. One hundred laps later, he'd raised an incredible £38.9 million for the NHS Covid-19 appeal.[/p][p]His simple message of hope – "Tomorrow will be a good day" – inspired millions around the world and brought comfort and joy to so many during the pandemic.[/p][p]Now we can all take part to build on that legacy. Friday 30 April would have been his 101st birthday and to honour him and his amazing achievements, The Captain Tom Foundation would love everyone, of all ages and abilities, to take part in the Captain Tom 100 and raise funds for a charity close to their heart of the Captain Tom Foundation.
