My story

[p]Hey hi! So I am raising money for the Emily Harris foundation. A charity that helps baby’s in the Kings Mill NICU, that have a hard start in life! Along with helping their families financially when baby’s are in hospital, sending staff on much needed training & also equipment towards the NICU. I want to help future families that go through this hard time.[/p][p]My story starts when I had a still born princess on 9th December 2015 at 36 weeks, with no reason as to what happened to her. So after that, I was promised any pregnancy would not go much over 36 weeks just in case. This meant I was to be induced with the next two baby’s I had, both at 36. Because of this they were both premature & ended up in the NIUC & both needed emergency care. [/p][p]My little girl born 7th March 2017 weighing 5lb10oz now 2, stopped breathing & needed to be on multiple breathing machines, feeding tube & also had a dangerous jaundice level which can cause multiple complications if left untreated. Every time we thought she was better, her levels shot straight back up! She spent around 2 weeks in the NICU. [/p][p]My little boy born 1st January 2019 weighing 6lb 1oz now 6 months, was born fine! But unfortunately hours later was rushed away needing oxygen badly & we also put on multiple breathing equipment & a feeding tube. That night I was asked to sign a form to consent a lumbar puncture as his infection level was high. It came back he had bacterial meningitis & had to have a long line fitted which is a cannula that can be used for longer. He had to have this in his little head as they couldn’t get one in anywhere else. He was put on a 2 week course of antibiotics & also had a little bit of jaundice. [/p][p]Thats only a little of our story. The main reason I’m doing this jump is because the staff saved my both my baby’s & helped me mentally after going through such heart ache just 2 years prior! They really deserve the recognition & support in that place. Them babies need constant around the clock care & you need to be well trained in the way they’re cared for. The Emily harris foundation is there to help these amazing people get more training & to get the equipment they need more of every day! Not to mention the support they give us! They also have three little flat at the bottom of the NICU which I was lucky to get one of with both of my little miracles. It’s the little things like the cakes made every week that puts a smile on your face when you’re going through something so hard. I really want to do my best the only way I know I can! [/p][p]I really hope I can do this amazing foundation proud along with your guys help! Thank you so much for reading a little of mine & my baby’s stories 💜[/p]
