My story

[p]Hello! My name is Lucy Shaw, I work for the wonderful charity that is The Purfleet Trust. For anyone that doesn't know about the Purfleet Trust, we a charity for single homeless people in King's Lynn and West Norfolk.[/p][p]It's our 3rd annual Gaming Marathon, slightly later than the previous year's due to moving into our fantastic new building, The Pathway House in Austin Fields, King's Lynn. [/p][p]Starting: 10.30am Thursday 25th of October 2018[/p][p]Ending: 11.30am Friday 26th of October 2018[/p][p]During our 25 Hour gaming marathon, Laura, Chris, Lily, Alan and myself play games individually on consoles for a solid 25 hours, there is no sleeping! If we need to eat, drink or move then our phones come out and we play on a game while moving. there is literally no stopping! It may not sound that difficult but sitting down for that amount of time and staring at a screen while peeling eyes open at 3am is not as easy as its sounds! We may have a couple new players this year and half the people playing the marathon are client's of the Purfleet Trust, they are giving up their time, sleep and sanity over this 25 hour period to help raise funds to get improve their centre. [/p][p]We are asking for your help to help us raise money for activities in our new building. With your donations and sponsors from this event we are hoping to provide our clients with activities over the cold winter period. As you can imagine winter is our busiest time of year, and the time that is hardest for our clients. The bad weather and harsh cold temperatures makes for a very busy day centre! [/p][p]We would like to buy arts and crafts materials, board games, and we are really hoping to be able to buy some instruments such as a guitar and keyboard. Our clients are a creative bunch and we want to be able to unleash their creativity, no matter what form this comes in. [/p][p]By purchasing these items we can teach our wonderful clients new skills, promote mindfulness and positive wellbeing whilst keeping minds engaged and entertained over the bitter months. [/p][p][br][/p][p]Please donate... it doesn't matter how small the donation is, every penny goes to the wonderful Purfleet Trust and will provide much needed activities for the winter time. Don't forget to add gift aid![/p]
