My story

[p]I DID IT. JUNE 9th. I was given the all clear to swim on Wednesday so I thought I would swim a couple of miles as I had not done any swimming for 5 weeks. Instead I swam the full 10K in 4 hours and 9 minutes. It was very cold at 14C. [/p][p]__________________________________________________________________________________[/p][p]UPDATE. I have broken my hand in a mountain bike accident and am not able to swim at the moment. I will complete this challenge next year in 2020. The upside is I have longer to raise money so don't stop giving.[/p][p]__________________________________________________________________________________[/p][p]On the 9th June I was going to swim 10K in open water (see the update), the swimmers equivalent of the marathon. I am taking on this huge challenge to raise money for two charities close to my heart.[/p][p]Why these two charities? Quite simply, because of my dad. He has had Multiple Sclerosis for over 20 years and volunteers for both these charities. He is always saying how hard funding is to get to do their good work. I figured I could help by trying to raise some money and if it is going to be a significant amount then I have to do something significant - swimming 10k in a murky lake full of Pike! [/p][p]So please dig deep and sponsor me.[/p]
