My story

[p]Dear Friends,[/p][p]On Sunday 29th of July 2018 I will race the Prudential RideLondon100 mile bike race to help raise money for a cause that is very dear to my heart. In South Sudan the education of a generation has been disrupted by decades of war, and girls in particular face formidable cultural and economic barriers.[/p][p]In the midst of on-going conflict there is a pocket of hope, a positive spark of life flashing from a community who refuses to lose their resilience. This local community is being helped by a small UK Charity called Friends of Ibba Girls School (FIGS) to build and run a residential school for girls aged 10-18. [/p][p]Ibba Girls School rely on the generous support of friends like you, but the local community have, and continue to invest a lot into the school. Your donation will help give girls from the greater Western Equatoria region of South Sudan the opportunity to be educated in a safe and caring boarding environment, equipping them to become leaders who will reduce poverty and transform their communities from the inside out. [/p][p]It will be no small feat sitting on a saddle and peddling through the rough roads of greater London and the mighty hills of Surrey for over 6 hours. But as a Trustee of FIGS I know that the pain will pale into insignificance when compared to the challenges our girls will face without education. [/p][p]Thank you in advance for supporting the education of girls at Ibba Girls School, South Sudan.[/p][p]You can find out more about Ibba girls school at https://www.ibbagirlsschool.org/ [/p][p][br][/p]
