My story

[p]In June this year, a team from BMO Global Asset Management will be taking on the challenge to walk around London's M25 motorway to raise funds for Great Ormond Street Hospital. [/p][p]The Challenge: to complete one lap of the M25 on foot - covering all 31 junctions, a total distance of at least 118 miles / 190 km (we estimate the final route will be closer to 150 miles / 241km), and always remaining within the acoustic range of the motorway. Not being a well trodden path known for it's scenic beauty, the planning in itself is therefore a challenge - we'll share more on the route in due course. [/p][p]It is estimated that the challenge will take 6 days to complete, with the team having to cover 25 miles each day.[/p][p]The Reason: to raise funds for Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH), an international centre of excellence in child healthcare, receiving over 250,000 outpatient visits and 40,000 inpatient visits every year. With 63 different clinical specialists, GOSH provides the UK's widest range of specialist health services for children on one site, and more than half of their patients come from outside London.[/p][p]The Walkers: Members of BMO's distribution and marketing team: Rob Thorpe, Ross Duncton, John Bennett and David Logan - supported by Stewart Conway. [/p][p]We hope you can support this great cause and really appreciate any donations. In addition, there is also the option to sponsor a specific junction(s) - email m25walk@gmail.com for more details.[/p][p]UPDATE:[/p][p]12/05/2018[/p][p]Practice 3/day 2 - the parks tour. Training for our walk around the M25 (in aid of Cascaid/GOSH) is no walk in the park. The purpose was to test our nutrition routine and the routing app. View the walk here: https://www.relive.cc/view/1541223734 [/p][p]15/03/2018[/p][p]We had our first practice walk on 15th March. We walked 30 miles along the Thames - 30 miles being our expected average daily walk. It was tough! [/p][p]Thank you![/p][p]Team BMO GAM[/p]
