Team story

[p]Hi guys, well i have gone and done it i have registered for a Marathon............ As most of you know i have never really been that much into fitness or exercise but a little over a year ago i took part in my first official race and never looked back since. The last 12 months have seen me take part either on my own or with a selection of friends in a number of runs and i have loved every minute of it. On completing my first half marathon in March this year it was then i decided/convinced myself that i had to take part in a full marathon and so this event is born. [/p][p]On successfully gaining a place in the Brighton Marathon i decided that even though i had managed to get a ballot place i would still do this run for charity, this is when the hardest part began. After much deliberation i was unable to make a decision between two really important charities so decided to run for both. My aim is to raise as much money as possible over the coming months and then my overall total will be split evenly between two amazing charities HEADWAY- North Staffordshire and MAKE-A-WISH UK. [/p][p]Headway is a charity really close to my heart as they are an organisation that work so closely with myself and our amazing team at the hospital and their work is invaluable. They promote a wider understanding of all aspects of head injury and provide information, support and services to people with head injuries along with their family and friends. Headway aims to promote awareness of head injury and its consequences, provide information and support and offer a friendly, understanding environment where everyone feels that they belong - At Headway they look at ability not the disability.[/p][p]Make a wish again is such a wonderful charity and has touched the lives of some of my friends and their families. They exist for one reason and that is to grant magical wishes to enrich the lives of children and young people fighting life threatening conditions. They go above and beyond to grant very special wishes to very special children; their dreams are made a reality at a time when they need it most because a child's life shouldn't be about illness hospitals and diagnosis, it should be about wonder, joy and hope.[/p][p]Please, please, please get donating everyone no matter how big or small it all adds up and makes that little difference to people that need it most.[/p][p]Thanks for reading :) xxxxx [/p][p][br][/p]
