My story

[p]This year I walked 100 miles of The South Down Way in six days, from Winchester to Eastbourne, at the end of April 2016. I started at Winchester on Monday 18th April 2016 and finished at Eastbourne on Saturday 23rd April 2016. It was a fantastic walk, in reasonable weather and a real challenge!![/p][p]All the money that I raise this year will be split equally between the WRAC Association and the MS Society. Unfortunately, more than 100,000 people in the UK have MS. The MS Society is fighting to improve the treatment and care of sufferers to help people with Multiple Sclerosis take control of their lives. Through fundraising like mine they’re funding research to help beat MS for good. The Women's Royal Army Corps Association was formed in 1949 on the birth of the WRAC (which was then disbanded in 1992).  Its aims are to maintain contact between veterans, fostering mutual friendship between them and provide for social gatherings; to foster esprit de corps, comradeship and welfare, and preserve traditions; to help, in conjunction with the ATS & WRAC Association Benevolent Fund and other welfare agencies, former members and their dependants who find themselves in difficult circumstances.[/p][p]This is the third year I have walked 100 miles to raise money for charity to celebrate my recovery from breast cancer. 2014 saw me walking the Heart of England Way for Cancer UK and WRAC Association. In 2015 I walked the Llyn Coastal Path mainly for Dementia UK.[/p][p]Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.[/p]
