My story

[p]In 2010, I couldn't run around the block - trust me, I tried. It was eye-opening. Still panting, I Goggled "Couch 2 5K", and commited to a healthier me. I've now been running for ten years.[/p][p]2018 was a tough year. I had just finished the Atlanta Triple Peach (10K, 10-miler, and half-marathon). I was suddenly having trouble breathing, my arms were tingling, I was overheating, and my stomach was a wreck. That summer, I was diagnosed with Pernicious Anemia (PA). [/p][p]After a bout of depression and self-pity, I recommitted to running. I was determined not to let my condition define my limits. I again completed the Triple Peach and am about to attempt the "Ultimate Peach" with my very first marathon.[/p][p]None of this would even be an idea in my head, let alone possible, if it weren't for the monthly injections to treat the PA. To raise awareness of this rare autoimmune disease for those in the US, I'm raising money for the Pernicious Anemia Society (PAS). [/p]
