My story

[p]Having Lost my Dad to cancer in December 2020 I wanted to give something back to the charities that supported the family through the last few months of my Dad's life. The last 18 months have being very difficult for charities so please help me raise funds for these very worthwhile charities. Every donation will make a difference and will be very much appreciated!![/p][p][br][/p][p]At Macmillan, we give people with cancer everything we’ve got. If you’re diagnosed, your worries are our worries. We will move mountains to help you live life as fully as you can.[/p][p]And we don’t stop there. We’re going all out to find ever better ways to help people with cancer, helping to bring forward the day when everyone gets life-transforming support from day one.[/p][p]We’re doing whatever it takes. But without your help we can’t support everyone who needs us. To donate, volunteer, raise money or campaign with us, call 0300 1000 200 or visit macmillan.org.uk[/p][p][br][/p][p]The Mary Stevens Hospice provide specialist care and support for people who are living with an incurable illness, and their families.[/p][p] [/p][p]We believe that every moment matters, and so we are here to help you to make the most of every second that you have with your loved ones.[/p][p] [/p][p]When it comes to our services, we always keep three things in mind - care, compassion and kindness.[/p][p] [/p][p]We are here to help people to live life to the full, while making sure we give all the care and support that is needed.[/p][p] [/p][p]Our care is holistic, supportive and aims to relieve symptoms, improve quality of life and maintain dignity. Everything we do is tailored to each individual patient and their loved ones - but it’s much more than just the services we offer, Mary Stevens Hospice is a family.[/p][p] [/p][p]Our care is provided in our 10-bed In-Patient Unit, or our Day Services Unit. Both are based on Hagley Road, in Oldswinford, and offer modern facilities complemented by a warm, friendly and comforting environment.[/p][p] [/p][p]We work hard to make our patients and their families feel at home and the atmosphere here is one of total positivity.[/p][p] [/p][p]We’re here to support those within the Dudley Borough, the Black Country and surrounding areas. Our services are available to adults aged 18 years and over, who need palliative, respite or end of life care.[/p][p] [/p][p]We’re happy to say that our care is free-of-charge to all who need it.[/p][p] [/p][p]It’s thanks to our generous supporters that we are able to meet our £3.5 million annual running costs, so we can continue to relieve pain and prevent suffering; to give respite and support to those who need it.[/p][p][br][/p]
