My story

[p]I am raising funds for two charities, Bucks Search & Rescue (BSAR) and the UK Sepsis Trust. All monies raised will be split 50/50 between the two charities.[/p][p]About the Charities[/p][p]Bucks Search and Rescue (BSAR) is a charity close to my heart. It is a charity staffed 100% by volunteers. When requested by Thames Valley Police, they drop what they are doing, 24 hours a day, 7 days and week, 365 days a year, and start searching for high risk lost, missing and vulnerable people. Highly trained, they are funded totally by donations. 100% professional, 100% volunteers.[/p][p]The UK Sepsis Trust aims to end preventable deaths from Sepsis. Sepsis can make anyone ill, any age, race, colour, young and old and kills 44,000 people every year in the UK. The UK Sepsis Trust supports survivors of sepsis and their families, raises awareness in schools, surgeries and hospitals. Spotting the signs of sepsis early, the sooner treatment can start the more likely you are to survive.[/p][p]In April 2018, my girlfriend was taken to A&E with acute stomach pains and jaundice. Within 3 days this had developed into Sepsis, and 24 hours later she was in intensive care, her heart, kidneys and lungs had all failed, and she was in a coma on a life support machine and kidney dialysis. She remained in intensive care for 12 days. Today she is fine, she was one of the very lucky ones, but we saw first hand how fast things can change.[/p][p]Please help me raise even a little bit of money for these charities, this run is for them...[/p]
