My story

[p]14.04.14 UPDATE: I did it!! 4 hours 23 minutes....Thank you so much for all your support and genorisity. It helped me enormously!![/p][p]Thank you for visiting my page. Having always fancied a crack at the London Marathon I have finally taken the plunge. [/p][p]My motivation came after my Dad and closest Uncle were both diagnosed with Prostate Cancer during 2012. They have chosen different treatments and are both thankfully on the way to making full recoveries (fingers crossed).[/p][p]Having previously known very little about Prostate Cancer it has become very apparent that it affects a huge number of men and Prostate Cancer UK are working very hard to promote awareness and support those affected. [/p][p]The disease claims almost as many lives as breast cancer but receives only 1/5th of the research funding. In order to help them raise funds I am running the London Marathon as part of 'Team Prostate' and any support that you are able to give will be greatly appreciated. [/p][p]I am working hard to obtain matching sponsorship from my employer, Standard Life. If I am successful then making a donation will be like joining your company pension scheme....you pay a bit, the taxman pays a bit and my employer will match both sums. A winning equation at the heart of my professional life as you will know!!     [/p][p]You will all have fathers, brothers, husbands, boyfriends and other male friends and colleagues who may be affected by Prostate Cancer in the future. If you are able to donate any amount, however large or small, it will make a difference by helping the team at Prostate Cancer UK to continue their fabulous work.[/p][p]I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.[/p][p]Cheers,[/p][p]Mark/Puds/Pudders[/p][p] [/p][p]Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this.  [/p]
