My story

[p]15 babies are stillborn or die soon after birth in the UK every day through complications, miscarriage, SIDs or illness and it is a devastating, life changing event. This happened twice to us during 2018. We lost our first angel baby at 7 weeks after a miscarriage in April, our second angel baby was diagnosed with Bilateral Renal Agenesis at our 20 week scan, we made the heart breaking decision to terminate the pregnancy and our baby boy was born sleeping at 03.56am on 7th September 2018 weighing 450grams, we named him Zac.[/p][p][br][/p][p]This year I am running Manchester marathon on 7th April, I am also taking part in Equinox24, which is a 24 hour mixed terrain relay race around a 10k loop against the clock, in the grounds of Belvoir Castle Estate, with my amazing running team mates from KUHAC. I will be part of a team of 5 runners for this event even though there are about 40 of us going.[/p][p][br][/p][p]I am also taking part in other events throughout the year, to date I have North east Lincs half marathon booked and I am sure a few other half marathons and 10K's will pop up on the calendar. All of which I am hoping to raise money for Abbie’s Fund.[/p][p][br][/p][p]Abbie’s Fund is a local charity that provide memory boxes for the Maternity Unit at Hull Royal Infirmary’s Women and Children’s Hospital to give to parents who have lost babies, they also provide financial support to enable the NHS trust to employ 2 bereavement midwives, with a third post in the pipeline. These are the midwives that no expectant parents want to meet, they're specially trained to provide guidance and support throughout that heart breaking time.[/p][p][br][/p]
