Team story

[p]I was diagnosed with Epilepsy some years ago and most recently have been diagnosed with a Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) too which causes non-epileptic absence seizures largely on a daily basis. Whilst I manage the “triggers”, this condition has had a major impact on my life and career. [/p][p]The aim is to raise money to be split equally between the Epilepsy Society & FNDAction whom support people with these conditions. Unable to drive or cycle, walking affords me some measure of independence. So on 16 March 2020 I simply plan to walk approximately 280 miles to work from the Triangle building, Cambridge to the Cambridge Assessment office in Paris.[/p][p]I will be accompanied by serial adventurer James Ketchell the only person to have completed the "ultimate triathlon" by rowing solo across the Atlantic ocean, climbing Mount Everest and cycling 18,000 miles around the world. On 22 September 2019, James became the first person to have circumnavigated the earth in an open cockpit gyrocopter. [/p][p]James is an action man and I am certainly not in his league! However, all challenges are relative, I have to be careful on stresses to my body as fatigue can intensify the seizures. So a long trek like this is a very big deal for me. James will be an encouragement to help me keep going.[/p][p]Besides wanting to raise money for the charities, both of us wish to inspire young people to seek their dreams and not be limited by hinderances circumstances may impose upon them. So, we will be visiting schools along the route in both the UK and France. Come and join us for a day, or a couple of miles![/p][vmgvideo class="ql-video" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="true" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/ohH_Y93Dqtc?showinfo=0&rel=0&iv_load_policy=3"][/vmgvideo][p][br][/p]
