Team story

[p]By Dec 2018, Martin Randall Travel is aiming to raise £3,000 to fund places for four young people on one of Action for Conservation's summer camps. [/p][p]Help us by making a donation today. MRT will match all donations up until we reach our target.[/p][p]Action for Conservation (AFC) works alongside partners such as the National Trust to inspire young people to become the next generation of nature conservationists. Working exclusively with young people aged 12–18, via workshops in deprived inner-city schools and on residential camps, they help to fill a significant gap in provision in the UK – there is otherwise very little in the way of conservation education for young people in this age range.[/p][p]Click 'read more' to watch an inspiring video about the camps you will be supporting:[/p][p][br][/p][vmgvideo class="ql-video" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="true" src="https://player.vimeo.com/video/237880168/"][/vmgvideo][p][br][/p][p]Through their work with young people, AFC offers them the opportunity to connect with nature and participate in conservation, which is something otherwise unavailable to many of them. They also seek to build confidence, and develop leadership and teamwork skills – empowering young people to create change in their own communities. Their activities are already yielding impressive results for thousands of the young participants – one of the ‘stars’ of their programme now leads workshops in her own school, has spoken at an international conservation conference, and joined AFC’s board of trustees. [/p][p]It is so important to Martin Randall Travel as a company that we support these kinds of projects, as through the education they provide today, we can help to protect our destinations long into the future. [/p][p]To read more about Action for Conservation, visit www.actionforconservation.org or to subscribe to their e-newsletter, click here.[/p][p]To read about this story on our website, click here.[/p]
