My story

[p]UPDATE: Challenge successfully completed on Sunday 26 April - see here for video! And it was quite a challenge, with lots of concentration required and itches left unscratched! A huge thank you to everyone who donated and sent words of encouragement - together we will make sure the most vulnerable in our society are supported through the current crisis.[/p][p][br][/p][p]It might not quite be the London Marathon, but this Sunday, 26th April, I will be taking up the 2.6 challenge and juggling non-stop for 26 minutes to raise money for Suffolk Refugee Support. I should add that I work for Suffolk Refugee Support, so am seeing first hand the wonderful work done by the dedicated team of staff and volunteers to support refugees and asylum seekers through this difficult time. We are using innovative ways to deliver our services remotely, with a focus on looking after those who might be isolated, destitute or have particular vulnerabilities, and making sure that children of asylum-seeking families who live on very meagre incomes have the resources they need to keep up with school work.[/p][p]A number of the refugees we support work on the front line of the coronavirus crisis, as carers or hospital cleaners, and we have been so impressed with how the refugee community in Suffolk has responded to the situation, supporting each other, following the guidance and doing the right thing. Anything you can give will help us to continue supporting vulnerable people whose needs are otherwise often overlooked.[/p][p]I will be juggling three balls continuously for the 26 minutes, with a witness (who will definitely make me start again if I drop a ball!), and some of it will be filmed for evidence! I might even try a few tricks towards the end![/p][p]Thank you![/p]
