My story

[p]I'm sure most people know that my son Fletcher suffers with epilepsy having been diagnosed at the age of 4 years old. Fletcher suffers from generalised epilepsy which means that he has no triggers and unfortunately he suffers with drug resistant epilepsy so controlling the condition is very hard. [/p][p]Recently we we're introduced to a charity called The Daisy Garland as a result  Fletcher has started the ketogenic diet in an attempt to control his seizures / epilepsy. [/p][p][span=font-family: UICTFontTextStyleBody; font-size: 17px;]The Daisy Garland charity was set up in memory of a young girl named Daisy who suffered from epilepsy however tragically died of SUDEP (sudden unexplained death in epilepsy patients).[/span][/p] [div=font-family: UICTFontTextStyleBody; font-size: 17px;]This charity have provided us with a SATS Monitor (free of charge) to monitor Fletcher's heart rate and oxygen levels during his sleep due to the large number of night time seizures he suffers.[/div] [div=font-family: UICTFontTextStyleBody; font-size: 17px;]The charity also fund ketogenic nurse placements at hospital these are the people who design and monitor Fletcher's diet.[/div] [div=font-family: UICTFontTextStyleBody; font-size: 17px;]The charity regularly send surprises through the post to both Fletcher and Lexie and provide support 365 days of the year just a call away. [/div][div=font-family: UICTFontTextStyleBody; font-size: 17px;]I have decided to try and raise funds for The Daisy Garland so they can continue to amazing work and support families like my own. [/div][div=font-family: UICTFontTextStyleBody; font-size: 17px;]Unfortunately due to a tough time of late that Fletcher has been going through I had to cut the running short due to increased care needs. [/div][div=font-family: UICTFontTextStyleBody; font-size: 17px;]Following on from the 7 miles for 70 days I along with two of my longest and best friends Lee Heywood and James Mawdsley will be taking on the Yorkshire three peaks on Saturday 22nd April. This consists of a 24.5 mile route comprising of 3 mountain summits to climb. The standard time for this challenge is under 12 hours although we will be aiming for under 9 hours. [/div][div=font-family: UICTFontTextStyleBody; font-size: 17px;]Any money you could spare by means of a donation would be greatly appreciated. [/div][div=font-family: UICTFontTextStyleBody; font-size: 17px;]Thank you[/div][div=font-family: UICTFontTextStyleBody; font-size: 17px;]Martin, Lee & James[/div] [div=font-family: UICTFontTextStyleBody; font-size: 17px;]If you want to look at the charity in more detail the website is [url=http://www.thedaisygarland.org.uk/]http://www.thedaisygarland.org.uk/[/url][lt]br /[gt][lt]br /[gt] [/div]
